Job Description
Job Title: Director of Rooms Operations
Department: Rooms Division
Inspired and Supported by: Hotel Manager
As a member of the leadership team, your purpose will be to ensure the delivery of five-star luxury guest services through adherence to service standards, driving service enhancements, and building colleague engagement.
You will be accountable for:
* Overseeing the performance of the rooms division including Front Office, Concierge, Butlers, Housekeeping, Florist, and Beauty & Fitness
* Driving a high-performance culture, setting clear expectations, empowering your team, and holding them accountable for delivering our Savoy service standards
* Ensuring continuous improvement of the guest experience, enhancing The Savoy’s reputation
* Maintaining accuracy of all related budgets, forecasts, and P&L
Your key responsibilities & contribution will be:
* Leading the performance of the Rooms Division team, ensuring effective management through training, development, problem resolution, coaching, succession planning, and accountability
* Analyzing guest feedback, addressing quality concerns, and ensuring effective follow-up
* Overseeing the operation and integration of departments to ensure a seamless guest experience
* Recruiting, training, and developing employees for effective resourcing and talent management
* Meeting financial goals, monitoring costs, and controlling expenses
* Collaborating with Reservations, Sales, and Front Office to maximize revenue, preparing business forecasts, and annual budgets
* Developing relationships with guests to provide personalized service
* Networking within the industry to stay updated on trends
* Role modeling company culture and taking collective responsibility for the rooms division
Qualifications
Note: Flexibility and multi-skilling are valued; tasks may vary to meet guest and colleague needs.
Requirements:
* 3-5 years’ experience in a senior Department Head role within the Rooms Division
* Experience with hotel renovation (advantageous)
* Charismatic leadership with emotional intelligence and influence skills
* Excellent change management skills
* Hospitality or business degree/diploma (asset)
* Proven coaching and development skills
* Highly organized with attention to detail, planning, and results orientation
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Ability to handle pressure and crises confidently
