VACANCY: Level 2 Weld Inspector
SHIFT : Monday – Friday 6am – 2pm ( flexibility to cover nights as and when required )
PAY: £18.00- £20.00 per hour depending on experience
LOCATION: Rotherham, S60 (Close to Meadowhall, Sheffield)
ABOUT US:
MTL Advanced is a Yorkshire-based, engineering and manufacturing company operating from a 390,000 sq. ft. facility in Rotherham.
We have invested in an extensive range of technology and equipment and provide services to a range of OEM's from leading industries including defence, security, construction, quarrying, recycling and rail.
Our inhouse capabilities include, large format Laser Cutting and Press Braking, CNC Precision Machining, Fabrication & Welding, Shot Blasting, Painting and final Assembly.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
* Monitor fabricators Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities
* Review approved Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS
* Review Procedure Qualification Records (PQR)
* Review Welders Performance Qualifications records (WPQ)
* Provide Independent Welding and Fabrication support and advice
* Review of Fabrication Inspection and Test Plans and final fabrication pack
* Visual inspections of weld set up/weld quality, completion of dimensional inspections as required
* Review and endorse NDT reports in a timely manner
* Prescribe and monitor weld repairs to code
* Verify the application of NDT methods for inspection activities
* Maintain a contemporaneous record of daily activities
ABOUT YOU:
* PCN Welding Inspector Level 2 or equivalent is essential
* PCN Level 2 MPI/DPI is preferred
* Previous experience of Welding Inspection Site/Field and Vendor Inspection Fabrication Quality Plans is essential
* Ability to generate a team approach to problem solving and a good communicator, both written and verbal is essential
* Computer literate is essential
* Knowledge and use of Microsoft Office is essential
