The role
As Clinical Security Coordinator, you’ll be responsible for overseeing the reception and security function at The Hellingly Centre, ensuring a safe, professional and well‑run environment for patients, staff and visitors.
You will:
* Lead the day-to-day operation of reception and security
* Line manage and support a team of Clinical Security Assistants
* Monitor access and entry systems, ensuring safety and compliance
* Act as a key point of contact for staff, visitors and contractors
* Manage rotas and support staffing across the service
* Support investigations, audits and continuous improvement of security processes
This is a role where you’re visible, trusted and relied upon to keep things running smoothly.
Working environment
You’ll be based at The Hellingly Centre, a secure mental health setting, working closely with:
* Clinical teams and ward staff
* Estates and Facilities teams
* External contractors and visitors
The role requires a balance of professional authority and approachable customer service, often in sensitive situations.
What we’re looking for
You’ll be someone who:
* Has experience supervising or managing staff
* Is confident dealing with people and situations calmly and professionally
* Has strong organisational and communication skills
* Can work independently and take ownership of the role
* Is comfortable working in a secure and sometimes unpredictable environment
Desirable (but not essential):
* Experience in security, healthcare or secure settings
* Training or experience in delivering staff training
