Job Description
My client is a leading energy solution provider seeking to onboard a civil site manager for an ongoing energy infrastructure project in the South of England.
Site Manager Responsibilities:
* Manage site operatives, subcontractors, and site activities daily.
* Develop and implement safety documentation, including construction phase plans, site quality plans, and risk assessments/method statements.
* Conduct inspections, site inductions, Toolbox Talks, and Daily Briefings.
* Prepare daily Safe System of Work (SSoW) and assign tasks.
* Create and maintain Site Specific Risk & Method Statements.
* Develop and monitor project schedules to ensure timely completion.
* Perform regular site inspections to ensure safety compliance.
* Communicate effectively with contractors.
* Attend weekly progress meetings.
* Resolve issues or conflicts during construction.
* Implement quality control measures throughout the project.
* Maintain comprehensive documentation and records of activities and labor, including a site diary.
Site Manager Requirements:
* Right to work in the UK.
* Desirable: SSE authorization of at least CAT1C.
* Must hold NSI 6 & 8 FULL, SMSTS, First Aid at Work, SHEA Power/CSCS, Temporary Works Co-Ordinator & Supervisor certifications.
* Extensive knowledge of construction methodologies within the Electricity Transmission industry.
* Competency to work in substations ranging from 66kV to 400kV.
* Knowledge of NEC contracts and current health, safety, and environmental legislation.
* Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
* Ability to work within budget and schedule constraints.
* Teamwork skills, including collaboration with clients, designers, H&S advisers, site staff, QS, and estimators.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
* Full driving license.
* Willingness to travel and work away at customer sites.
* Qualified in construction, mechanical, or electrical engineering.
* Previous or current authorization to NG Persons, with valid SR163/TP137 tickets.
