About the Role
As a member of the shift team, working a 4-on, 6-off shift pattern (2 days, 2 nights), the Shift Electrician is a fully integrated member of the shift production team in order to manufacture safely and with appreciation of customer requirements ensuring all KPI's and stretch targets are achieved.
To maintain and improve the day-to-day operational efficiency of area assets, by ensuring regular and efficient electrical maintenance is carried out and problems solved effectively and quickly in order to meet business needs at all times.

What You Will Do
1. Ensure that all machinery safety protection is in place and in working order
2. Take seriously the safety of your colleagues/yourself in your operational area and to take actions to promote the required safety standards, challenging all instances of unsafe behaviour
3. Provide solutions to failure situations, liaising with Mechanical, Electrical and Process Engineers
4. Trouble shoot equipment/process problems in conjunction with team members to ensure rapid resolution of problems
5. Assist the team to overcome operating and quality problems-checking equipment against centreline settings and investigating causes of deviations
6. Provide comprehensive information about failures and actions taken so that the RST can determine and implement preventative actions
7. Be an integral part of the team, setting high personal standards and working closely with external support to minimise downtime
8. Optimise line performance by maximising equipment availability in your area
9. Review Line priority lists and actively prioritise workload
10. Respond quickly and effectively to electrical breakdowns to drive improvements in machine efficiency
11. Support the Day Electrical Engineers in continuous improvement projects
12. Ensure change control procedures are followed for equipment modifications
13. Support the shift electrical logbook to improve communication, fault finding techniques, and traceability
14. Follow site standards for new installations and software backup processes
15. Provide support with planned maintenance activities, utilising best practices developed by Day support team
16. Supervise contractors on site and ensure that all safety and hygiene policies are followed
17. Assist with site projects when required, including new equipment installations, machine modifications and converting development
Who You Are?
As a Shift Electrician, you will have:
18. Time-served engineer or equivalent, preferably multi-skilled with extensive experience within a FMCG
19. ONC qualification in Electrical discipline/Equivalent
20. HNC qualification in Electrical discipline/Equivalent
21. NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering/ equivalent
22. PLC practical experience requirements – be actively using a laptop or PC to get online, monitor and make small modifications
23. Motor Drive systems (Inverter, Servo, encoder, resolver)
24. Experience with Management Systems Ideally SAP
25. Siemens Step 7
26. Siemens TIA Portal
27. Allen Bradley SLC500 (RS Logix 500)
28. Allen Bradley Logix (RS Logix 5000)
29. Minimum practical experience with at least 1 PLC type, More PLC types
