The role You are an experienced Product Designer with a sophisticated eye for visual craft and interaction design that thinks in systems, strives for accessibility, and brings strong personal skills to foster collaboration across teams. You bring a track record of success in central design roles, where you’ve balanced high-end UI craftsmanship with a logical approach to scalability. While you understand the mechanics of a design system, your real superpower is visual storytelling, ensuring that as our system grows, it maintains a premium level of polish and cohesive interaction design across every touchpoint. At Dojo we’re mindful that the route into Product Design can be varied and diverse - we like and encourage that, both in terms of experience and our people. What follows is a high-level view of the role expectations and reflects those things we value most. That said, we don’t think in terms of years of experience, nor expertise in all that follows, but we are after someone who is driven, humble and will contribute passionately to our design community at Dojo. What you will do… Define our interactive language: Collaborate with Brand and Product teams to craft a unified interaction language, establishing the micro-interactions and principles that make our products feel premium and intuitive. Elevate visual cohesion: Be the voice from the system team to champion a high standard of UI excellence and accessibility, ensuring our design system is the benchmark for quality across the organisation. Scale multi-platform excellence: Architect and deliver components across Android, iOS, and Web, translating refined UI concepts into robust, scalable, and production-ready assets. Drive system adoption: Work closely with engineers and designers across teams to gather real-world context for new component needs and actively drive the adoption of existing design system components. Champion system integrity and quality: Conduct meticulous design reviews and QA on coded components and demo app examples to ensure they are flawlessly executed, accessible, and accurately reflect component variants. Optimise through feedback: Transform designer and engineer insights into actionable system enhancements, ensuring the library evolves in lockstep with the needs of the business. Foster team culture: Cultivate a high-bar feedback culture and elevated visual craftsmanship that drives a more refined user experience and continuous improvement. What you will bring Sophisticated visual design: A strong portfolio demonstrating a refined aesthetic and a deep understanding of typography, colour theory, and layout to create cohesive and appealing user interfaces. Design systems experience: Worked with/created tokenised design systems, balancing design and engineering needs, going beyond basic Figma assets - A unified system serving both disciplines. Advanced interaction design: Proficient in designing fluid microinteractions for enhanced usability and engaging user experience. Design system component creation: Collaborates with Product Designers to translate intent into robust, scalable, accessible components across iOS, Android, and Web.
