Our stunning, nature-rich setting in the Dartington Estate offers the perfect environment for nurturing neurodivergent children and young people aged 6–18. We are a specialist school for students with Autism, PDA, SEMH and complex needs, and horticulture plays a central role in our therapeutic and creative curriculum.
We’re looking for a Horticulture Tutor to join our team and lead engaging, hands-on learning through gardening and green space development. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone passionate about sustainability, education, and student wellbeing.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Delivering practical horticulture sessions for individuals and small groups
* Supporting students’ sensory and therapeutic development through garden-based activities
* Maintaining and developing the school’s gardens, allotments and outdoor learning spaces
* Embedding sustainable practices like composting and wildlife habitats
* Collaborating with teaching and therapy teams to align horticulture with learning plans
* Contributing to EHCP reviews and tracking student progress

What We’re Looking For
* Experience in horticulture, gardening, or landscaping
* A passion for supporting neurodivergent students in creative, practical ways
* Knowledge of organic growing, sensory planting, and seasonal cultivation
* Strong teamwork and communication skills
* Understanding of safeguarding, health and safety, and inclusive practice
* (Desirable) Experience in education, therapeutic gardening, or forest school settings
