Job title: Support Worker Job Type: Full time Company: Flourishing Families Reporting into: Registered Manager Location: Reading We have an opportunity for experienced support workers for both day and waking night shifts to join our Residential Family Assessment Unit based in Reading Berkshire. We are looking for enthusiastic and committed people who are reliable and able to offer emotional and practical support to our residents. Flourishing FamiliesParental Assessment Centreis locatedina quietresidential estate in Reading Berkshire.You will work under our Ofsted Registered Manager and our assessing socialworkersand you need to be able to remain focused and calm and work in a family centred way and remain professional. The ethos of our Family residential home is to provide a homely and family-like environment to our service users. Job duties include: Ability to keep clear andaccuraterecords. Good communicator and excellent interpersonal skills and good organisational. Ability to be an active team player and the ability to work on own initiative Commitment to good practice and a team approach to work Commitment to equal opportunity and challenging any discriminatory and oppressive practices. To ensure our unit is kept clean and in a tidy condition, adhere to the cleaning rota encouraging our residents toparticipateasappropriate. To ensure thatgood qualityreport logs aremaintainedasrequired. Tomaintainand promote family residential support work tohigh levelsof professionalism expected byFlourishing FamiliesParental Assessment Centre and Ofsted Competent in the use of Microsoft office application All staffare required torespect the confidentiality of all matters that they might learn in the course of their employment. Draw the attention of the Manager/Team Leader on duty to any areas of concern. To complete allfacetofaceon-line and mandatory training. To be a member of a team of professional staff caring for our residents. To implement and contribute to the development of Care Plans. To contribute to the provision of a secure, stable, supportive environment for the parent and child which respects and promotes their health, culture, religion, race,identityand lifestyle. To safeguard and promote the welfare of all our residents Schedule includes: 12-hourshifts Day shift Night shift Weekend availability Education: Preferable but not required the below qualifications: NVQ (Children) Level 3 and above Diploma of Higher Education PreferableExperiencewithin a: Residential FamilySupport Community Family Support Work Experience of working as a family support worker Please note we will require the successful candidate to undergo a full enhanced DBS check as this post will involve direct and indirect contact with children and vulnerable adults, therefore this post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act.
