SEN Primary Teacher
Prospero Teaching is working with a specialist school in the Andover area to recruit a committed and passionate SEN Primary Teacher (QTS). This is a rewarding opportunity to work in a setting that supports pupils with special educational needs, providing tailored learning to help them thrive both academically and personally.
You will be responsible for delivering a primary curriculum adapted to meet individual needs, focusing on building confidence, engagement, and independence. The school provides a structured and nurturing environment, where strong relationships and consistency are key to pupil success.
This role would suit teachers who are enthusiastic about working in SEN and want to make a meaningful impact in a specialist setting.
The Role:
- Deliver a primary curriculum tailored to pupils with SEN
- Plan and deliver structured, engaging, and differentiated lessons
- Support pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour management
- Build strong, consistent relationships with pupils
- Track and assess progress across academic and personal development
- Work closely with teaching assistants and SEN support staff
- Create a safe, structured, and supportive classroom environment
- Follow safeguarding and school policies consistently
Ideal Candidate:
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching at primary level
- Passionate about working within an SEN or specialist setting
- Strong behaviour management and classroom organisation skills
- Patient, resilient, and adaptable teaching approach
- Able to differentiate learning for a range of needs
- Committed to supporting pupils' overall development
Contract Details:
- Position: SEN Primary Teacher (QTS)
- Location: Andover
- Start Date: ASAP or September
- Working Pattern: Full-time
- Pay Rate: £32,916 - £51,047 per annum (M1-U3)
- Key Stage: Primary
Experience, Training & Safeguarding:
- QTS required
- SEN or specialist-setting experience beneficial but not essential
- Safeguarding training can be provided
