We are now looking for a motivated, passionate and forward‑thinking Lead Clinical Educator to lead the planning, coordination and delivery of our Radiology Education Strategy.
Responsibilities
Lead the development, coordination and delivery of the Radiology Education Strategy, supporting current staff and the future workforce across multiple training pathways. Design, manage and deliver a blended programme of education that aligns with national, regional and local workforce needs, ensuring high‑quality learning experiences for all cohorts of learners. Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners, including Higher Education Institutions, apprenticeship providers and regional workforce groups, to build strong training networks, create advanced practice opportunities and support alternative routes into the profession. Provide expert educational leadership, oversee placement governance, support supervisors and assessors, and contribute to service improvement, workforce transformation and recruitment initiatives across the department.
Essential Qualifications
* HCPC‑registered Diagnostic Radiographer.
* BSc (Hons) Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent HCPC‑approved qualification.
* Evidence of advanced academic study at Master’s level or equivalent (or working towards), e.g., education, leadership, advanced practice or clinical specialism.
* Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical/Education Teaching (or equivalent).
* Practice Assessor / Practice Supervisor training (HEI‑recognised).
Desirable Qualifications
* Leadership or management qualification.
* Interest in further postgraduate education (e.g., PGCert, MSc, Advanced Practice).
Essential Experience
* Significant post‑registration clinical radiography experience across relevant modalities (e.g., Plain Film, CT, MRI, Cardiology).
* Demonstrable experience leading or coordinating clinical education, student placements or training programmes.
* Experience supervising or managing staff, including performance conversations and pastoral support.
* Experience delivering teaching, workshops, competency assessments or educational resources.
* Experience contributing to audit, quality assurance, research or service improvement.
Desirable Experience
* Experience representing a department at regional or national education forums.
* Experience designing policies, competency frameworks or new training pathways.
Essential Knowledge & Skills
* Strong understanding of educational theory, competency frameworks and assessment models.
* Ability to plan, deliver and evaluate blended learning programmes (in‑person, digital, simulation).
* Excellent organisational skills, able to manage multiple overlapping training pathways.
* High‑level communication skills for liaising with HEIs, learners, supervisors and senior staff.
Desirable Knowledge & Skills
* Evidence of securing or utilising external training funding (e.g., NHSE, apprenticeship levy).

Contract and Working Conditions
Band 7; Salary £49,387 to £56,515 a year (Pro‑Rata for part time staff). Permanent contract, Full‑time working pattern. Locations: New Cross Hospital & Cannock Chase Hospital, Wolverhampton, WV10 0QP.
