Senior Production Manager Introduction: We are looking to appoint a Senior Production Manager within our team here at 21CC Group. This pivotal role will be responsible for overseeing the technical requirements, planning, and execution of events across a wide range of sizes and complexities. As a key member of our production team, you will lead technical delivery, ensuring the highest standards are met while working closely with internal teams and external suppliers. Role Overview: As the Senior Production Manager, you will be responsible for managing all technical aspects of event production, from specification and planning to execution. You will work closely with creative teams, event managers, and the sales team to ensure that all projects are delivered to the highest standard. Your role will involve overseeing the preparation, management, and technical delivery for both in-house and external client events, ensuring everything runs smoothly from start to finish. Key Responsibilities: Technical Requirements & Client Proposals: Specify and manage technical requirements for events of all sizes, preparing detailed quotes and proposals for clients (either independently or as part of a team for larger, more complex projects). Work closely with creative teams, event management, and sales to ensure proposals are tailored to client needs, meeting the high expectations of 21CC Group customers. Attend site visits to assess technical requirements and ensure the feasibility of event execution across all service delivery areas. Planning & Project Management: Produce and manage detailed technical plans for event delivery, including power plans, lighting plans, data/networking plans, site layouts, and noise management plans as required. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that all technical plans are reviewed, revised, and signed off. Oversee rigging and de-rigging schedules, ensuring all resources are properly allocated and deadlines are met, with the right people and skills in the right place. Team Leadership & Development: Lead and mentor the production team, fostering a collaborative environment to deliver projects to the highest standard. Develop training programs for junior and less experienced team members on technical equipment, event delivery, and quoting technical services. Provide leadership and guidance during the execution of events, ensuring health and safety protocols are followed at all times. Supplier & Resource Management: Source, manage, and maintain relationships with suppliers, contractors, and resources. Oversee the procurement of equipment and services, ensuring quality standards and budget constraints are met. Monitor sub-hire requirements and identify areas requiring investment in order to bring services in-house where appropriate. Health, Safety & Compliance: Work with the Head of Projects and Head of Operations to manage and maintain health and safety standards across all technical areas of service delivery. Compile and review risk assessments and method statements, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Stay updated with developments within the industry regarding equipment, safety, training, and regulatory requirements. On-Site Event Delivery: Oversee and manage on-site event execution, providing technical support and ensuring successful delivery of services. Troubleshoot any issues that arise during events, providing quick and efficient resolutions to meet tight deadlines. Conduct post-event evaluations and gather feedback to continuously improve event processes and delivery. Financial Management & Reporting: Manage project budgets, ensuring that technical requirements are met within allocated financial resources. Oversee the financial tracking of all production-related costs, including equipment procurement, supplier management, and on-site expenses. Prepare detailed reports on project costs, including variance analysis, for internal review and client billing. Monitor and control costs across all phases of the project, identifying opportunities to reduce expenses without compromising on quality or safety. Work with the senior leadership team to ensure financial performance is aligned with company objectives and profitability. Technology & Development: Continuously evaluate and identify opportunities for incorporating new technologies to enhance event production, ensuring that 21CC Group stays at the forefront of industry advancements. Manage and maintain the company’s inventory of technical equipment, ensuring that all tools and technology are up-to-date, fully operational, and comply with industry standards. Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers to explore the latest technological advancements in AV, lighting, sound, and other event production tools, ensuring equipment upgrades are planned and executed when necessary. Ensure that team members are trained on the latest equipment, technologies, and software, fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellence. Proactively plan and manage the ongoing development and maintenance of technical infrastructure, including investments in new equipment or software systems to ensure the company’s continued growth and capabilities. Your Expertise: Proven experience in managing large-scale technical production for events, with a strong background in AV, lighting, sound, and other technical services. In-depth understanding of health and safety procedures, risk assessments, and industry regulations. Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to train, mentor, and develop junior staff and crew. Excellent communication and client-facing skills, with the ability to work with clients and internal teams to deliver high-quality projects. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think quickly and manage issues on-site in high-pressure environments. Familiarity with industry-standard software, including Current RMS, Wysiwyg/Capture, Resolume, D&B Arraycalc and others. Experience with key event production consoles and systems (Avolites, Grand MA, Allen & Heath, D&B Audio) is a plus. A full UK driving license is essential. Weekend and evening work is required during events. Additional Skills: Strong organisational, multitasking, and time management abilities. Ability to manage high-pressure situations with composure and professionalism. A willingness to travel to various event sites across the UK and internationally. Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and other relevant technical tools. Flexible working hours with core hours from 10 am – 4 pm each working day. 31 days of holiday per year (including bank holidays) – 5 allocated by the company.
