An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Clinical Support Worker / Healthcare Assistant within the Cardio Respiratory department to deliver Cardiorespiratory services to the Trust and, as necessary, to other LUFT Trust sites or appropriate healthcare sites.
To be an effective member of the Cardiorespiratory Department by providing a high standard of patient care. The post holder may be required to participate in flexible working hours.

The staff member will be responsible for the effective flow of patients throughout the echo service. Clinical duties include safe manual handling of patients, meeting hygiene and personal needs, and supporting as directed by the clinical physiologist. You will need to accurately record patient demographics and clinical observations of patients recovering from sedation.
You will work independently, sharing your time between echo rooms to provide optimal service. Administrative duties include organizing inpatient and outpatient work, and communicating with nursing, clerical, and medical staff to ensure patient safety during transfers.
Alongside the physiologist team, you will ensure stock levels of consumables are maintained, utilizing your IT skills to navigate Oracle and NHS supply chain systems.
You will be responsible for cleaning, preparing, and ensuring the safety of equipment used during transoesophageal echocardiography. You will also participate in the recovery of TOE patients following sedation, recording clinical observations and alerting staff to abnormalities.
Together with your colleagues, you will ensure emergency equipment is available and regularly checked. Appropriate training for cannulation will be provided.
