Key Responsibilities
* Provide expert legal advice on thestatutory responsibilities of local authoritiesunder homelessness legislation.
* Respond to and managelegal challengesfrom applicants, legal representatives, and advocacy groups regarding housing decisions.
* Support and adviseTeam Leaders and Duty Managers, particularly on complex or escalated cases.
* Draft formal responses andcorrespondence(both electronic and paper-based) related to legal queries and appeals.
* Engage professionally withapplicants, advocates, and legal representativesvia telephone and written communication.
* Apply in-depth knowledge of relevant case law, statutory provisions, and regulatory guidance to day-to-day legal decision-making.
Requirements
* Qualified solicitor or barristerwith current practising certificate (England & Wales).
* 2-3 years' experienceworking specifically on homelessness applications and related legal matters.
* Demonstrable experience in public sector housing law and litigation (preferably within a local authority setting).
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and manage a varied caseload efficiently.
