The posts primary objective is to work regionally across multiple Health Boards to consolidate the activity within a specific category, avoiding duplication and achieving economies of scale.
Main duties of the job
NWSSP - NHS Wales Procurement Shared Service is an established Procurement Service assisting the Health Boards and Trusts across Wales to deliver patient centred services. We are an award winning service focusing on value, safety, excellence, innovation and quality. * Knowledge of professional purchasing principles acquired through NVQ level 3 or Advanced Certificate in Procurement and Supply, plus knowledge of contract law acquired through short courses and experience OR o Previous work experience in a contracting function: e.g. ability to interpret and develop technical and commercial specifications to support sourcing activities, experience working with end users to translate operational requirements into clear, concise procurement documentation, appraise suppliers, invite tenders & evaluate bids, terms and conditions of contract.
* Proven ability to build, manage, and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
* Demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative approach to engaging diverse teams and vendors.
* 5 GCSE's grade C and above, including Maths & English or equivalent experience
* Ability to work to deadlines
* Competent in the use of Microsoft products
* Proven ability to prepare documentation utilising Microsoft products that are both structurally and grammatically correct and capable of final presentation
