Service Support Engineer\nLocation: Newcastle Upon Tyne\nJob Type: Full-Time, Permanent\nIndustry: Subsea Engineering / Offshore Services\nSalary: Competitive + benefits\nWorking pattern: Hybrid\nJackson Hogg is delighted to be supporting our client with the appointment of a Service Support Engineer to join a high-performing service team supporting global subsea operations. This position plays a key role in delivering front-line engineering support for subsea services, focusing on both technical planning and customer engagement.\nKey Responsibilities are but not limited to the following:\n * Act as the primary point of contact for technical service requests, supporting both internal teams and external clients for all field service requests.\n * Provide engineering input for the planning and execution of service scopes, with a focus on subsea power.\n * Assessing Customer needs and compiling the technical scope of work which can form part of the commercial bid. This is to include the method, materials, manning and skill requirements.\n * Create and review technical documentation such as procedures, method statements, and site reports.\n * Support the preparation and coordination of field service activities, including technician logistics.\n * Participate in a structured on-call rota to provide 24/7 technical assistance as needed.\n * Maintain compliance with company HSEQ procedures and contribute to the achievement of quality and certification standards.\n * Assist in the development of team training plans and internal upskilling initiatives.\n * Identify and implement improvements to service processes, tools, and documentation.\n * Ensure timely completion and submission of technical reports and expense documentation.\n * Support the Company initiatives to gain and retain ISO 9001 & 14001 and OHSAS 18001 accreditations.\nRequirements:\nEssential:\n * A recognised technical qualification in electrical, mechanical, or hydraulic engineering.\n * Practical experience with power cables, especially in offshore renewable energy projects (termination, repair, splicing, testing).\n * Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a strong ability to write clear, technical documentation.\n * UK passport and full driving licence.\n * Understanding of ISO 9001 & 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards.\nDesirable:\n * GWO certifications (or willingness to obtain).\n * Minimum 3 years’ experience in subsea cable or umbilical services.\n * Background in offshore support, energy services, or field-based engineering.\n * Exposure to lean or continuous improvement methodologies.\nWhat You’ll Bring:\n * A strong commitment to safety, quality, and environmental best practices.\n * Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams and functions.\n * Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to service delivery.\n * Organised, dependable, and able to manage multiple technical projects simultaneously.\nIf you're interested in this role please apply here, or call Eleanor Buckley at Jackson Hogg to arrange a confidential call/meeting to learn more information
