Job Description
MCS Group is seeking a proactive and skilled Environmental & Facilities Engineer to support the management and maintenance of on-site facilities and services for a leading manufacturing company based in the Greater Belfast area.
This diverse role involves working across plant infrastructure, environmental systems, and site services to deliver improvements in compliance, cost, and efficiency.
Responsibilities
* Ensure all plant and facility systems comply with relevant legislation and industry best practices.
* Manage service contracts including water, compressors, forklifts, cranes, heating, and waste management.
* Develop and maintain environmental databases for reporting and investigation of incidents.
* Lead internal environmental audits and support external compliance activities (e.g., ISO 14001, PPC).
* Drive initiatives to reduce energy use, waste, and environmental impact.
* Coordinate with suppliers for equipment and service sourcing.
* Prepare technical specifications, review tenders, and present capital expenditure proposals.
* Liaise with regulatory bodies for audits, permits, and funding.
* Identify and implement cost-saving projects.
* Conduct risk and compliance assessments across operations.
Candidate Criteria
* Degree in Engineering, Environmental, or related field.
* Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO 14001, PPC).
