We are looking for an organised, confident and proactive Transport Administrator to join our Transport Services team. You'll play a key part in ensuring our staff have the vehicles, travel and transport support they need to deliver high-quality care across Cornwall.
Responsibilities
Communication & Customer Service
* Work closely with vehicle lease companies, repairers, travel providers and accommodation suppliers.
* Provide clear, professional advice to staff via phone, email and face‑to‑face.
* Handle sensitive information and overcome barriers to understanding.
Transport Coordination
* Support the procurement, allocation and quotation processes for Trust vehicles.
* Coordinate valuations and auction sales of fleet vehicles.
* Carry out vehicle handovers at multiple sites – sometimes outdoors in various weather conditions.
* Manage travel and accommodation bookings to secure best value.
Administration & Finance
* Raise purchase orders and validate invoices within delegated limits.
* Prepare reports and documents for the Transport Manager and Transport Officer.
* Ensure requests are accurate, compliant and audit‑ready.
* Provide financial information when required.
Systems & IT
* Maintain accurate transport records and databases.
* Use a range of Trust systems including HealthRoster, finance systems, booking platforms, Excel, Outlook and more.
* Handle complex individual and group bookings.
Qualifications
Education, qualifications and experience
* NVQ 3 Administration or equivalent experience.
* Previous experience in a healthcare office environment.
* Good standard of education.
Skills and Aptitude
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to prioritise own workload and work unsupervised.
* Organisation skills and accuracy.
Knowledge and abilities
* Computer literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
* Ability to switch tasks readily and frequently without loss of concentration.
Desirable
* Knowledge of CFT Policies and Procedures.
