Job Description
Working Hours/Shift Pattern:
Mon-Fri 40hrs or 4on 4 off
Role Purpose (Job Profile):
To produce high quality programs in sufficient time to meet the demands set out by the development and production plans for the formula one race car as well as external customers
Main Duties:
* To carry out programming operations using Computer Aided Manufacture and Simulation Tools as directed by Tool Path Programming Manager
* To supply Production Engineered solutions in the form of CNC programs and all accompanying information to a level that will enable right first-time manufacture in an efficient timescale.
* To ensure components are produced in the most efficient, cost-effective way whilst keeping lead times to a minimum. This will involve liaising with other departments such as the Drawing Office, Machine Shop and Pattern Shop, etc.
* To design and supply relevant information for any jig or fixtures necessary for part work holding during manufacture.
* To supply all information to other business areas to allow efficient part manufacture eg; Drawings for on-line programmed operations, stage information to allow effective Inspection processing etc.
* To ensure all relevant data regarding scheduling of work is kept up to date and accurate.

Core Competencies:
* Ability to create CNC code using NX CAM
* Using simulation software (Vericut) to ensure collision free optimised programs for manufacture.
* Knowledge of design for manufacture to aid right first time in the shortest time possible.
* Production engineering experience to identify from drawing and model the efficient method of manufacture.
Qualifications
and Experience Level:
* Apprentice trained in Mechanical Production Engineering.
* Working knowledge and experience using CNC 3,4, 5axis machining centres.
* Experience in NX CAM
* Experience using Vericut Simulation
* Experience in programming for Turing, Mill Tun and Milling
* Knowledge of G and M codes
* Experience in cutter selection for optimised programming and efficient cost-effective manufacture
