Senior Advisor - Future Agriculture - Environmental Land Management - 31666

We are seeking dynamic, strategic thinkers to join the Future Agriculture - Environmental Land Management team to influence the design and delivery of incentives within the ELM schemes and to contribute to the EA2030 strategy and government targets for water, the environment and climate.
Responsibilities
* Provide advice in meetings, manage commissions, and oversee programme milestones and risks related to ELM and Countryside Stewardship Higher Tier (CSHT).
* Influence the design and delivery of incentives within the wider context of organisational responses to government reviews and regulatory reforms.
* Work across multiple teams and organisations, including senior leaders, to articulate a scheme that supports EA outcomes.
* Contribute to continuous improvement of the CSHT and related farming/countryside programmes through sound design and delivery.
* Represent EA expertise to Defra, delivery bodies, and the agriculture sector to promote consistency and organisational collaboration.
Experience and Skills
* Experience of Agriculture and working with Defra and other statutory bodies is essential.
* Politically aware with excellent communication and networking skills.
* Understanding of environmental sensitivities associated with major agriculture sector reform.
* Experience interpreting/evaluating evidence to propose risk-based solutions for challenging problems.
* Ability to prioritise and deliver complex work; a self-starter who actively develops and advances ideas.
* Ability to work with senior leaders and across teams to deliver outcomes.

The team sits within the Nature & Place Directorate, part of the National Agriculture and Land Team. We operate in an agile, fast-paced, flexible and collaborative environment and use smart tools to stay connected and reduce travel. Location, Travel and Base
You’ll have an EA Office base location, but this is a national role with a flexible/hybrid working pattern in England. Some travel and overnight stays may be required.
