About the Role
Providing professional front-line employee relations advice and support to colleagues and Management Teams on all aspects of employee relations, colleague welfare, performance management, people policies, data protection & right to work legislation.
The position will be based in London ideally, but will consider candidates for our Rednal Head office. B45 9PZ
Responsibilities
Employee Relations
* To provide professional, balanced and expert advice and support to line managers at all levels within the business. This will include:
o ACAS guidelines
o Performance Management
o Disciplinary Process, incl. case analysis
o Grievances, incl. resignation in haste/complaints
o Whistleblowing, incl. management of our international case management system
o Appeals
o ACAS Early Conciliation
o Tribunal case preparation and management
People Policies
* To have expert knowledge of our various people policies and guides, to provide advice and support on the following:
o Maternity/Adoption/Paternity/Shared Parental Leave/Parental Leave
o Compassionate Leave / Dependency Leave / Force Majeure Leave
o Equality & Diversity
o Attendance Management:
o To have expert knowledge of our attendance policy, alongside the ability to apply sound judgement on the following:
o Unauthorised Absence & Some Other Substantial Reason (SOSR)
o Absence Without Leave (AWOL)
o Short-Term Absence incl. Intermittent absence
o Long-Term Absence incl. Occupational Health case management
o Reasonable Adjustments
o Ill-health Terminations
Right To Work In The UK
* To have an excellent knowledge of the regulations relating to checking right to work in the UK and to provide support on the following:
o Completing checks on eligibility to Work in the UK, Ireland and Guernsey
o Visa renewals & appeals
o Employer sponsorship visas
o Training line managers on RTW validation using Right-check
Data Protection
* To have a good understanding of the General Data Protection Regulations to support the following areas:
o Subject Access Requests (SARS)
o Right to be Forgotten requests
o Personal Details Correction
o Privileged communications
o Data Protection policies
o ICO contact
o Data breaches
Employment Legislation
* To be able to support front line managers with employment issues relating to:
o Working Time Regulations, incl. Child & Young Workers
o Fixed term contracts
o Probation periods
o Hour’s consultations
o Redundancy consultations
o Flexible working
Essential
* Up-to-date knowledge of HR legislation and best practice
* Great listener
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Good administrative and IT skills
* Experience in letter writing
* Ability to build key working relationships and influence colleagues at all levels
Desirable
* CIPD Qualified
* Experience of working in HR Function or Operations with a strong ER record
