The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for the coaching and mentoring of apprentices studying the Level 3 Dental Nurse Practitioner Diploma and Level 2 Functional Skills in Mathematics, have at least 5 years’ experience in the role of a dental nurse and be registered with the General Dental Council (GDC).
They will hold a relevant assessors award (TAQA/A1) and tutoring (AET) qualification or be working towards them.
The role involves planning and delivering engaging, classroom-based theoretical teaching, alongside assessing learners in practice through workplace observations and performance reviews. Regular travel to dental practices in and around the North West area is required; therefore, a full UK driving licence and access to a car are essential.
Trainee Tutor/Assessor Applications
We may consider this role as a trainee Tutor/Assessor position. Full support will be provided; however, the cost of the required qualifications will be the responsibility of the candidate.

Qualifications & Experience
Essential
1. Level 3 Dental Nursing qualification (C&G / NEBDN)
2. Current GDC registration
3. Proven experience working as a dental nurse
4. Awareness of current dental practices, techniques, and educational methodologies
5. Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle at all times
Desirable
6. CAVA and AET qualifications (or equivalent)
7. Experience teaching, training, or mentoring trainee dental nurses
8. Experience assessing skills and knowledge in line with City & Guilds standards

9. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
10. Ability to deliver complex information clearly and engagingly
11. Strong organisational and time-management skills
12. Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
13. Close attention to detail when assessing learner progress

Desirable
15. Familiarity with e-learning platforms and online assessment tools
16. Ability to adapt teaching and assessment approaches to suit different learning styles
17. Experience providing constructive, timely, and supportive feedback
