3 Month Contract With A Local Authority Job Purpose To maintain and enhance communal outdoor spaces to a high standard, ensuring they are safe, clean, and visually appealing for residents. The role involves carrying out a range of grounds maintenance and landscaping tasks while delivering excellent customer service and adhering to health and safety regulations. Key Responsibilities Perform routine grounds maintenance duties including weeding, planting, pruning, watering, and grass cutting. Maintain lawns and landscaped areas using a range of machinery (e.g. mowers, strimmers, brush cutters). Safely operate tools, equipment, and machinery in line with company and manufacturer guidelines. Undertake minor landscaping projects to improve communal environments. Clear leaves, moss, and snow, and apply grit/salt when required. Respond to vandalism (e.g. graffiti removal) and report incidents appropriately. Identify and report maintenance issues or hazards in communal areas. Monitor and report breaches of tenancy agreements such as anti-social behaviour or fly-tipping. Support and guide apprentices or trainees when required. Act as a point of contact for residents, providing assistance or escalating queries. Maintain a professional and courteous approach at all times. Follow all health and safety procedures, including the use of PPE. Provide cover for colleagues and carry out additional duties as required. Requirements Experience in grounds maintenance, gardening, or a similar role. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Basic knowledge of health and safety practices. Full UK driving licence (Category C1) and ability to drive company vehicles. Experience operating a wide range of grounds maintenance equipment. Knowledge of horticulture or landscaping techniques. Experience working in a customer-facing or housing environment. Relevant qualifications in horticulture or grounds maintenance. Additional Information Bi-Weekly Payments 35 Hours Per Week
