Design and Technology Technician (Temporary Contract)
Location: Secondary School, Accrington
Contract: September – October 2025
Hours: Full-time (term-time only)
Salary: Dependent on experience
We are seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Design and Technology Technician to join our vibrant secondary school in Accrington on a temporary basis from September to October 2025.
The successful candidate will support the Design & Technology department by ensuring that classrooms, workshops, and resources are fully prepared for lessons. You will play a key role in maintaining equipment, assisting with practical activities, and helping to create an engaging learning environment for our students.
Key responsibilities include:
* Preparing materials, tools, and equipment for D&T lessons.
* Supporting teachers and students during practical tasks.
* Maintaining, repairing, and organising tools, machinery, and stock.
* Ensuring that health and safety procedures are followed at all times.
* Assisting in the development of creative projects across Resistant Materials, Graphics, Textiles, and Food Technology.
We are looking for someone who:
* Has practical experience in workshop/technical environments (school or industry).
* Is organised, reliable, and able to work independently.
* Has a good understanding of health and safety requirements.
* Enjoys working with young people and supporting their learning.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
