PRISON CUSTODY OFFICER – PART TIME HOURS
HMP & YOI PARC, BRIDGEND
Permanent, Part Time
20 hours per week with various shifts and ‘weekends only’ available
Starting Salary £15,133.50*
*During your first 12 weeks of employment, you will work 40 hours per week to complete initial training, compensated at the full-time rate of £30,267 per annum. After successful training, you will shift to your contracted 20 hours per week.

About the role: You will ensure prisoners are treated with dignity and respect, maintain safety and security, and provide structure and routine. Responsibilities include completing paperwork, maintaining restrictions and privileges, reducing security risks, controlling incidents, promoting a rehabilitative culture, challenging poor behavior, encouraging participation in activities, responding to substance misuse and emergencies, assessing risks, and supporting vulnerable prisoners.
