Element has an opportunity for a Senior Cyber Engineer to join our growing Cyber Engineering Services.
A successful candidate will have a strong foundation as a security engineer, responsible for securing complex global environments and designing security solutions at scale. This includes expertise in application, cloud, and infrastructure domains.
This hybrid role involves designing and implementing highly secure technical solutions to defend against cyber threats, focusing on detection engineering within Element's security tooling.
Core Responsibilities
1. Assist in designing and implementing technical solutions and security tools to address vulnerabilities, mitigate threats, and automate tasks.
2. Contribute to planning, implementing, and managing the security operations tooling roadmap.
3. Collaborate on engineering, managing, monitoring, and upgrading cybersecurity infrastructure and technologies.
4. Create and maintain detection rules to identify suspicious activities and threats.
5. Participate in the creation and optimization of SIEM event correlation rules to filter security events.
6. Support the transition of project deliverables into operational services.
7. Develop technical solutions and new security tools for vulnerability mitigation and automation.
8. Ensure documentation and procedures are up-to-date and followed.
9. Conduct security checks and troubleshooting.
10. Maintain standard operating procedures and protocols.
11. Work closely with the Cyber Defence team to follow enterprise security practices.
12. Support incident response efforts as needed.
13. Assist with operational and management reporting.
Skills / Qualifications
* Self-motivated with a positive attitude, supporting business growth through security as an enabler.
* Strong intellectual agility and adaptability in various business contexts.
* Expertise in at least one security domain: Platform Protection, Network Architecture, or Cloud Security.
* Ability to review and provide input on designs, reports, and standards.
* Strong communication skills, capable of explaining technical findings to non-technical audiences.
* Knowledge of current security principles, techniques, and trends.
* Experience with networking in complex, multi-site, multinational environments.
* Familiarity with security technologies such as NDR, content filtering, FW, IPS, IDS, DDoS mitigation, EDR/MDR, DAST/SAST, IAM, SIEM, and SOAR.
* Experience in cyber defense operations and previous roles as a Cyber Security Engineer, Network, or Server Engineer.
* Experience working internationally and across cultures.
* Proactive communication skills and ability to interact at various organizational levels.
* Interest or experience in working within complex, highly federated organizations.
* Interest or experience in infrastructure and application support and development.
