Engineering @365 is working with a well-established designer and manufacturer of bespoke mechanical handling and automation systems, providing end-to-end design, manufacturing, and installation services across a range of industrial and commercial sectors. The company is now seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join its growing and dynamic engineering team.
About the role:
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you’ll play a key role in the development and delivery of bespoke conveying and automation solutions. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you’ll take projects from initial concept and proposal through to detailed design.
Key Responsibilities:
* Generate 3D models and 2D layouts for bespoke mechanical equipment using industry-standard CAD tools.
* Produce comprehensive technical documentation including parts lists, drawings, and assembly details.
* Contribute to design reviews, ensuring solutions are efficient, manufacturable, and meet performance requirements.
* Assist with site visits to gather measurements, assess existing equipment, and verify installation feasibility.
* Collaborate with internal teams on proposals and concept layouts to support project bids.
* Provide technical input to ensure projects remain within specification, budget, and schedule.
* Support production teams during prototype build, testing, and installation activities.
What we’re looking for:
* Experience designing automation, machinery or material handling machinery
* Proficient with Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD 2D
* Experience with pneumatics or robotics would be a plus
