Job Overview
An encouraging opportunity has arisen for a Clerical Services Co‑ordinator within the Division of Medicine, based at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd. The post holder will be responsible for the provision of operational and day‑to‑day management of clerical and administrative services across the Medicine Division, working closely with the Site Specialty Managers. The Division encompasses Gastroenterology, Endoscopy, Renal (including the Renal Dialysis Ward), Respiratory, Cardiology (including the Cath Lab and ECG), COTE, Rheumatology, Diabetes, Neurology and the Medical Wards.
Responsibilities
* Provide day‑to‑day operational management of the administration and clerical staff within the Division.
* Support the Medicine Management Team in ensuring sound administrative processes support clinical teams in achieving operational objectives efficiently and effectively.
* Maintain high standards of written and verbal communication, prioritise work, and meet deadlines.
Education
* Good standard of general or higher education (Certificate Level).
* Degree level (Management) or equivalent experience.
Essential Experience
* Extensive experience of staff management.
* Previous experience of managing financial resources.
* Knowledge of waiting list management.
* Experience of handling complex or sensitive complaints or situations/issues.
* Able to communicate with all levels of staff, representatives and managers in a clear and confident manner.
* Sound knowledge of IT systems.
Desirable Experience
* Professional Management Qualification.
* Currently pursuing a qualification in NHS Management.
* Previous NHS experience.
* Experience of project work.
* Experience managing databases.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Ability to work flexibly and cope under pressure.
Additional Qualities
* Demonstrated leadership potential including the ability to introduce new and innovative work practices, initiate change, motivate staff, delegate, prioritise tasks and manage difficult personalities.
* Excellent communication, written, problem‑solving, time‑management, counselling/supervision, organisational skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines.

* The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
