Offer description

Are you looking for a rewarding career path where you can make a difference? If so, KCHFT’s Prevention, Inequalities and Children’s Specialist Directorate would like to hear from you. As a Clinical Lead, you will lead the delivery of identified programmes within our Healthy Child 5‑19 portfolio, including the KCHFT’s Immunisation programme to children and adults across Kent and Medway, and the trust’s internal flu vaccination programmes. You will be part of an enthusiastic and passionate team dedicated to keeping the population safe and well, now and in later life, by protecting them against common infections and disease. You’ll provide clinical judgement and leadership to support teams to safely deliver early intervention activities including routine immunisations in a variety of settings, making sure that our communities are protected. Building good relationships with local schools and partners within Kent and Medway is a key part of this role.

What will the role involve?

* Provide clinical leadership across the service.
* Lead the achievement of key performance indicators for the service area, including quality, risk management, governance, workforce and financial measures; establish robust monitoring, analysing data and producing reports.
* Demonstrate a strong focus on quality of the service user experience in the way services are designed and delivered, with clear processes in place for addressing any risks or issues that impact on this.
* Ensure that local and national best practice is shared and applied across teams and that learning from regulatory visits, audits and clinical reviews is embedded into team practice.
* Have line‑management responsibility for your direct reports, including recruitment, absence management, supervision and appraisals; ensure a consistent supervision framework and equitable people‑management processes across your portfolio and that teams are suitably resourced.

We provide full induction training, regular coaching and the support and encouragement needed to get you off to the best start. This role does require you to be able to travel to and from community settings within Kent and Medway.

We also offer a generous NHS pension, annual leave entitlement and a competitive pay framework to progress through. Rated “outstanding” by the CQC, we have a passion for delivering high standards of patient care and excellent services to improve the health of our communities.

We pride ourselves in being diverse and welcome applications from people with varied backgrounds, perspectives and experiences. We ask for information about your protected characteristics on our application forms. The data we collect helps ensure we are attracting diversity in our applicants and that all our colleagues have equitable access to career opportunities, supporting our journey to being a Great Place to Work.

As a flexible working friendly organisation, we want you to be able to work in a way that is best for you, for our patients and for you. Talk to us about a flexible working arrangement that won’t involve sacrificing time for personal interests or family commitments. We’ll support you to work flexibly in a way that suits us both.

Please note: at this stage, the role is open only to colleagues currently employed within Kent and Medway NHS Trusts and the Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board (ICB).

As a community trust many of our roles require individuals to be able to drive. If you are unable to drive due to a disability, please contact the Recruitment Team via kentchft.recruitment@nhs.net quoting the vacancy reference number so we can support you further. You will be asked to confirm you have a full UK driving licence where driving is a requirement of the role.
