Consultant Orthodontist – NHS Scotland
An opportunity has arisen for a Consultant Orthodontist to join our well‑established and highly motivated NHS Lanarkshire Orthodontic team. The service aims to deliver high quality orthodontic care in a patient‑centred environment for complex and multidisciplinary cases. Applicants should be able to demonstrate exemplary interpersonal and communication skills.
NHS Lanarkshire is Scotland’s third largest health board and has 3 Acute Hospitals – University Hospital Hairmyres, University Hospital Wishaw, and University Hospital Monklands. All services are currently working to design and realise new models of care for the replacement University Hospital Monklands which will be Scotland’s flagship digital hospital, to be built in 2031.
There is excellent nursing and technical support from our onsite Maxillofacial laboratories and there are opportunities to be involved in training.
Qualifications
* Membership in Orthodontics.
* Accredited 3‑year training pathway completed.
* Held or be within six months of obtaining the Intercollegiate Specialty Fellowship Examination in Orthodontics.
* Inclusion on the General Dental Council Specialist List in Orthodontics is essential.
