About the Role
Are you looking for an opportunity to provide outstanding health and wellbeing support for all students including those most vulnerable? Can you develop and support the implementation of cross college strategies and initiatives that support outstanding health and wellbeing? Here at Alton College, we are looking for a Health & Safeguarding Co-ordinator to work the Director of Student Progress on leading the provision.
This role requires an organised, motivational co-ordinator to lead the delivery of robust, challenging, highly effective and consistently applied safeguarding interventions leading to demonstrable impact in student attendance, retention, and success. You will act as the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, co-ordinating external agency visits and developing the opportunities available to students.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
* Lead operational delivery of health and well-being support and interventions for students
* Support the Director of Student Progress in the development and delivery of an outstanding provision that is highly responsive to student need while remaining fully compliant with relevant legislation
* Co-ordinate external agency visits, expanding and developing the support opportunities available to students
* Maintain own caseload to agreed level and undertake any duties and responsibilities expected including the leading and championing of specific areas/projects that may be assigned
* Ensure that health and wellbeing interventions are both innovative and inspirational while leading to increased student engagement.
* Lead of the delivery of robust, challenging, highly effective and consistently applied health and wellbeing interventions leading to demonstrable impact in student attendance, retention and success
Requirements
You will need:
* Experience of safeguarding
* A relevant Health or Social Care qualification at level 5 or above.
* Relevant experience in supporting young people with both physical and mental wellbeing.
* Thorough and demonstrable understanding and knowledge of the challenges and current issues related to FE including related legislation, for example Equality and Diversity and SEN
* Management qualification at or above level 5 or working towards
