Salary: £3,500 across the 6 weeks Who We Are Polypipe Building Products are focused on delivering solutions to the residential sector. Working with national and local developers, plumbing and heating engineers, general builders and groundworkers to deliver above and below ground drainage systems, rainwater solutions as well as hot and cold plastic plumbing products. The Opportunity This 6-week HR Assistant internship is a great opportunity to gain practical experience in core HR functions like onboarding, and employee engagement. You'll work closely with the HR team, contribute to real projects, and develop key skills in communication, organisation, and HR systems. It’s a valuable stepping stone for anyone exploring a future career in human resources. What You’ll Be Doing As an HR Assistant intern, you’ll support the team with day-to-day tasks like preparing onboarding materials, updating employee records, and helping with internal communications. You’ll also get involved in projects that improve the employee experience and learn how HR supports the wider business. It’s a hands-on role where you’ll build confidence, sharpen your organisational skills, and see how a people-first culture is built from the inside out. Who We’re Looking For Interest in Human Resources: Demonstrated enthusiasm for HR or people-focused work, whether through university degree, module or project work. Strong Communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both in writing and in person. Organisational Skills: Comfortable managing multiple tasks, meeting deadlines, and keeping things on track. Attention to Detail: Accurate and thorough when handling data, documents, or scheduling. Team Player: Willing to collaborate, support others, and contribute to a positive team environment. Proactive Attitude: Eager to learn, take initiative, and get involved in new tasks or projects. Basic Tech Confidence: Comfortable using email, spreadsheets, and common office tools (training provided for HR systems).
