Title: Electrical Nuclear Safety Engineer
Salary range: £50,000 to £80,000 per annum depending on experience
Location: Bristol or Gloucester
Working Pattern: We operate a flexible hybrid working pattern at Frazer-Nash, with time split between the office, client sites and working from home

We’re seeking an Electrical Nuclear Safety Engineer to join our diverse team and play a role in expanding and growing our support to existing and new nuclear projects.
We support clients in all parts of the UK civil and defence nuclear industry, as well as a wide range of non-reactor, and experimental or demonstrator facilities. We provide technical support to our clients on engineering projects for the design, construction, operation, maintenance, defuelling, and decommissioning of their nuclear facilities.
As an electrical nuclear safety professional, you will be expected to plan and undertake project work for clients on, or in support of, significant nuclear safety and assurance tasks, and supervise other staff in doing such work. You’ll apply your experience and knowledge in the nuclear industry to assess and justify electrical engineering problems and produce related safety justifications. You’ll also oversee and manage projects, develop and hold client relationships, and win new work; as well as supporting and coaching junior colleagues’ development.
Role
This is an opportunity for candidates with relevant experience, who are able to handle changing priorities and able to perform the following kind of roles:
* Develop and execute strategies to solve complex electrical power system and C&I challenges for nuclear facilities.
* Manage technical tasks such as engineering design and modification assessment, hazard analysis, design basis analysis, probabilistic analysis, safety functional requirements, regulatory compliancy.
* Conducting periodic review of safety of nuclear facilities.
* Qualification and substantiation of systems against safety requirements.
* Act as the architect engineer for complex nuclear projects.
* Safety case development and support for nuclear and non-nuclear plant.
* Authoring or reviewing/verifying safety-related documents.
Essential Requirements
* Demonstrable 5+ years of civil nuclear or defence nuclear infrastructure experience working on electrical and C&I engineering problems.
* A Degree, Master’s or PhD in a relevant STEM subject.
* Well-developed organisational skills and demonstrated experience leading technical teams.
* Clear written and verbal communication skills.
* Adaptability and ability to manage your own workload.
* An appetite to continually learn, improve and stretch yourself.
* A willingness to travel and spend time on client sites.
Desirable Requirements
* Experience working in highly regulated and/or high hazard industries.
* Technical oversight; leadership; and independent review.
* Experience in project management and commercial aspects.
* Technical consultancy experience.
* Chartered with a professional institution.
