Community Based Mental Health TherapyServices

Hours: Part Time 22.5 - 30 hours a week / flexible working considered

St Andrews has an excellent record ofproviding opportunities for research, training and continuing professionaldevelopment so you will also have access to peer support from the widerCharity, as well as regular CPD events. The successful applicant will be registered with the HCPC or be able toregister in the near future.

The National Probation Service(NPS), have partnered with St Andrews Healthcare to deliver Community Sentencetreatment Requirements as part of a Mental Health Treatment Requirement initiative. This is a unique opportunity to work as a QualifiedPsychologist embedded in probation offices in the Norfolk region.

Within this role you will supportand enhance the professional psychological care of clients within the CriminalJustice System (CJS); providing psychological assessment and psychologicalinterventions, working independently according to a plan agreed and within theoverall framework MHTRs, and St Andrews policies and procedures.

The service is psychology-led andholds psychological assessment and formulation, as well as the service users wework with, at the core of everything it offers.

Experience of using a range oftherapeutic modalities including CBT, EMDR and Compassion Focused Therapy wouldalso be an advantage although support and development to gain these skills willbe provided.


About us

Our service specialises in developingand delivering community based services for St Andrews. We offer a rangeof services including, a busy private therapy clinic, a Medico-Legal Service,Diagnostic Assessment Clinics (ADHD and ASD), a Complex Trauma Service forMilitary Veterans, a community transition service and a range of MHTR servicesacross the midlands and east of England. We support LightBulb a schools basedmental wellness programme and are able to offer a comprehensive developmentplan for those wishing to gain a range of experience.

The Role and Person

You will be responsible for deliveringoutcome based psychological therapy that is uniquely tailored to meet the needsof service users living in the region.You will supervise a number ofassistant psychologist supporting them in a manualised treatment approach,whilst working with the wider team on more complex cases. You will be offeredsupervision from a consultant Psychologist working within our service, theywill encourage you to develop your strengths and skills with opportunities forprofessional development.

The service is community based andappointments are offered where possible in the service users locality as wellas remotely via telephone and video. As some travel will be required, afull drivers licence is essential or access to good public transport links.However, in return, you will also benefit from having the flexibility towork from home when appropriate to do so.
