About the Course

Are you interested in a rewarding career in pharmacy? Do you want to work as a registered professional who assists pharmacists with various tasks, such as dispensing medicines, providing health advice, and managing the day-to-day operation of the pharmacy? If so, then this apprenticeship is for you!


Qualifications Required

GCSEs at A-C or 4-9 or equivalent, in Maths and English desired but not essential as can be provided as part of the course. For applicants without Maths and English Level 2 or equivalent qualifications, employment will be offered on condition of completing initial Maths and English tests to determine suitability for the course.


Personal Qualities and Skills Required

* A keen interest in pharmacy and healthcare.
* Previous experience in the pharmacy industry or similar.
* Good communication and customer service skills.
* The ability to work as part of a team and independently.
* The willingness to learn and develop your skills and knowledge.


Training to be Provided

Pharmacy Technician (Integrated) Level 3

An apprenticeship allows you to earn a wage, gain valuable work experience and industry-specific competence. Potential for full-time employment on successful completion of the apprenticeship. Transferable skills that are invaluable in the wider world of work.

As a Pharmacy Technician Apprentice, you will:

* Achieve the best possible outcome through a person’s medicines by managing, ordering, receiving, maintaining, and supplying medicines and other pharmaceutical products safely, legally, and effectively, whilst meeting the regulatory standards.
* Provide person-centred health advice to all patients, whether on prescription or over the counter, and refer them to other healthcare professionals when appropriate.
* Support the management of the day-to-day operation of the pharmacy, such as clinical governance, business operation, and processes, and supervise other pharmacy staff.
* Provide training to pharmacy and the wider healthcare teams, such as for new members of staff.
* Maintain a quality service through auditing and evaluating the service and processes, and respond to feedback.
* You will also gain a nationally recognised qualification at Level 3, equivalent to A level, which will enable you to register with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) as a Pharmacy Technician.
