Overview
We're looking for a Civil Engineer Student to join our Natural Resources, Nuclear and Networks team based at Hinkley Point for a Summer Placement. You will be working on our Hinkley Point project, which is part of the Nuclear Sector.

Location & Salary
Location: Hinkley Point, Bridgewater
Starting Salary: £26,208 per annum
Hours & Schedule
8 weeks – various shift patterns depending on the project needs: 12:00 - 22:30, Night shift - 16:30 - 3am (7 days on, 3 days off), Day shift - 7am - 5:30pm (7 on 4 off). Potential to move onto a Graduate Scheme.
Starting date: July 2026

Responsibilities
As a Summer Placement Civil Engineer, you’ll be working within the Nuclear team assisting in the planning & coordination, design & management of the project and on‑site activities. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to gain hands‑on experience, receive mentorship from experienced professionals, and develop a strong foundation in quantity surveying.
* Assisting in the planning, execution, and management of projects relevant to your field of study.
* Collaborating with team members and stakeholders to support project objectives.
* Conducting research and analysis to inform project decisions and strategies.
* Preparing reports, presentations, and documentation related to project activities.
* Participating in team meetings and contributing to problem‑solving and decision‑making processes.
Placement Programme

The programme will take 8 weeks to complete and has been designed to immerse yourself in the world of construction, allowing you to see your learnings in real‑world situations and gain practical experiences to support the rest of your degree.

Qualifications
We’re on the lookout for students undertaking a degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, who can join us on an 8‑week placement across July – August. You must be returning to university upon completion of your placement.
The role of Summer Placement Civil Engineer is great for you if:

* Ideally hold a full driving licence.
