A Leading Education Recruitment Agency is working with a range of mainstream schools, SEMH provisions, and alternative education settings in Hounslow to recruit dedicated and resilient Behaviour Mentors. These schools support pupils who experience barriers to learning due to challenging behaviour, emotional dysregulation, trauma, anxiety, and unmet special educational needs, and they are seeking professionals who can offer calm, consistent, and structured support.
The Role
As a Behaviour Mentor in Hounslow, you will work closely with pupils who struggle to regulate emotions or manage behaviour within a school environment. Many pupils present with SEMH needs, Autism, ADHD, attachment difficulties, or trauma-related behaviours. Your role is to support pupils in developing positive coping strategies, maintaining engagement with learning, and reducing behaviour incidents.
You may support pupils on a 1:1 basis, in small intervention groups, or across a classroom or year group. Some roles involve supporting pupils during transitions, unstructured times, or following behaviour incidents, ensuring pupils can reintegrate into lessons safely and successfully.
Key Responsibilities

* Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
* Use de-escalation techniques and restorative approaches
* Promote clear boundaries, routines, and expectations
* Build trusting, professional relationships with pupils
* Act as a positive role model within the school environment

* Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams
* Record and report behaviour incidents accurately
* Follow safeguarding and behaviour policies at all times
