Be the steady hand that makes the difference
We’re looking for a patient and resilient Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a Year 5 pupil who has social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs and presents with challenging behaviour. This is a role where building trust and offering consistency is key—you’ll be the person this child can rely on.
Responsibilities
* Providing 1:1 support in class, helping the pupil access learning
* Using positive behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques
* Supporting social and emotional development, encouraging confidence and self-regulation
* Working with the class teacher, SENCO and parents to keep support consistent
* Creating a calm, structured environment where the pupil feels safe and understood
Qualifications and attributes
* Experience supporting children with SEMH and behaviour needs
* A calm, empathetic and resilient personality
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Someone who celebrates the small steps and keeps going when things get tough

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
