The Role:
We`re looking for a new Payroll Assistant to join our People team based in Loudwater, Buckinghamshire. In this role, you will with the administration and processing of the monthly payrolls for over 2,200 employees across all areas of the business.

-Processing of monthly variable pay, overtime and bonus including audit checks and reconciliation.
-Managing all communications received by The Payroll Department. respond courteously to pay queries raised by managers and/or employees and resolve them in a reasonable timescale.
-Processing and calculating statutory payments such as SPP, SSP etc, including SPP1/SSP1 forms and correspondence.
-Checking Starters from all business areas on all systems in a timely manner, setting up manually if required. Liaising with HR team for discrepancies in HR/Payroll data exchange.
-Processing monthly contractual changes
-Processing P45/P46 forms
-Monthly holiday top up calculations for compulsory overtime and commission payments.
-Reporting and input of absence on Rotageek, our T&A system, liaising with management teams with queries and incomplete data.
-Controlling expenses; ensuring all claims received are authorised and HMRC compliant. Inputting as well as summarising the data monthly. Controls and audit checks to reconcile in Payroll.
-Manual payments/adjustments (including raising BACS payments when required)
-Manual payslips for leavers.
-Assisting other team members to resolve PAYE/NIC and pay queries.
-Maintaining staff records for any changes in personal details
-Complete earnings forms, Jury and tenancy reference requests.
-Reconciliation of Payroll controls of all variables pay input prior to sign off.
The Person:
This is the type of person we`re dreaming of:
-In depth working knowledge of PAYE, NIC, SSP and SMP/SAP/SPP with ability to manually calculate Tax and National Insurance and maintain up to date knowledge.
-Working knowledge of UK tax and NI calculations, statutory payments, pension, and year end reporting
-Ability to understand and explain technical payroll and pension queries.
-Ability to manually calculate pro-rata payments such as holiday pay, hourly/daily rates of pay etc.
-Understanding payroll and HR systems processes
-Works discreetly to resolve matters sensitively, with concerns escalated appropriately.
-Ability and confidence to build relationships across all levels of the business.
