​ Venture Trust is in an exciting phase in our development, and we are now welcoming applications from brilliant, outdoor qualified and therapeutically minded people to help us deliver community-based activities and Wilderness Journeys on a freelance basis through our new Associate Pathway for Outdoor Practitioners. With your help, we can do more in Scotland's green spaces and wild places to make a lasting, positive difference in communities and in the lives of our participants. About Venture Trust We work to make a positive life possible for some of Scotland’s most vulnerable people, at any stage in their life, struggling with issues such as involvement in the justice system, long-term unemployment, recovery from addiction, homelessness or risk of homelessness, isolation and a history of trauma or harm. Our model of service delivery relies on having a diverse pool of qualified, skilled, and reliable freelance Outdoor Practitioners Associate Outdoor Practitioners to work alongside our teams to deliver outdoor and adventurous activities in communities and Wilderness Journeys. It is vital that all our Associate Outdoor Practitioners feel supported and valued by Venture Trust and we believe that providing all our Associates with a consistent, thorough induction programme and ongoing mentoring and support is central to this. In Venture Trust, a unique therapeutic approach underpins our work, and we are committed to enabling all our Associate Outdoor Practitioners to understand the principles of this approach and how to apply it in practice for the benefit of our participants. ​ What can Associate Outdoor Practitioners can expect from Venture Trust? Competitive daily rates plus an overnight allowance where applicable Working blocks of up to 11 days, bookable in advance Comprehensive induction programme Ongoing mentoring support A safe, supportive working environment Opportunities for CPD Job satisfaction, knowing your contribution has made a positive difference What you’ll bring to Venture Trust: Experience of working with young people and adults affected by trauma and adversity OR A genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of our participants through nature and outdoor activities A commitment to working within our therapeutic model of service delivery Personal values that align with Venture Trust A strong work ethic and ability to work effectively as part of a team Willingness to participate in the Associate Pathway Induction Programme A range of outdoor qualifications e.g. (MCI, WML, ML, RCI, OWCL) Full clean driving licence with D1 is desirable but not essential For the full job description of this role, please click here.
