About The Role
We are currently seeking manual machinists, ideally with time served experience but not essential, to machine centrifugally spun castings for the Aerospace and Power Generation industries, using various stainless alloys.
Principal Accountabilities
1. Machining large castings according to drawings and specified tolerances.
2. Operating a variety of machines, including manual lathes and vertical borers.
3. Ensuring production meets set timeframes.
4. Conducting visual inspections of machined castings.
5. Marking up swarf drums for alloy identification.
6. Working as part of a team with minimal supervision.
7. Maintaining safety standards and procedures throughout all activities.
The Successful Candidate Will Have The Following Skills/Experience
1. At least 3 years of machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
2. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and produce dimensionally accurate components.
3. Proficiency in working to tolerances and using measuring equipment accurately.
4. Attention to detail.
5. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
7. Flexibility regarding work hours and overtime, including shifts.
8. Understanding of health & safety, environmental issues, and quality standards.
9. Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
