Purpose of the post Ensure that the people of Gwynedd are at the heart of everything we do.To assist the Technology Supervisor by undertaking the full range of duties associated with the supervisors post and all electrical, mechanical and commuication work required for the installation and maintenance of all technology assets associated with North Wales Traffic Management system, A55 tunnels, trunk road bridges and inteligent transport systems. Any other works as may be required by the authority from time to time.Responsibility for Functions Any equipment, vehicle, machinery or goods appertaining to the duties mentioned.Main duties To assist with the management of the Trink Road Technology Service in connection with resources in an efficient, effective and economical manner with particular consideration to the following:To assist the supervisor by undertaking the lead role on schemes as required.All electrical work associated with the installation and maintenance of lighting columns, signs and other street furniture.All electrical work associated with the planned periodic maintenance of technology assetsTo undertake inspection and testing of all technology assets as per Schedule requirements and in response to any queries of complaints received from stakeholders and the public.To undertake inspection and testing of all lighting columns, signs and other street furniture as per cyclic requirement and communicate results to engineer/supervisor.Manage all your required documentation/certification and ensure they are completed correctly and returned to the work supervisor promptly.To escort/supervise Contractors on site and ensure safe working as per safe system of work protocols. Ensure that all work and certification comply with all current legislation/recommendations e.g EWR 1989, HASAWA 1974 and BS7671.Ensure compliance with all current BSI and NICEIC standards.Ensure that all documentation/certification which sets the standard to enable compliance with the law has been signed.Ensure that all work schedules are discussed with the Supervisor and provide feedback on all jobs.Ensure that your allocated Digital equipment is functional at all times and utilised fully to manage the agents assets.Ensure that all faults/defects are clearly communicated to the supervisor immediately.To undertake night works as and when required such as A55 tunnel closures, highway cyclic maintence) and ensure that all documentation is completed/recorded and signed accordingly.Manage all stock on vehicles and site, and communicate with the supervisor regarding any issues.Ensure that Sector Scheme qualifications/training is obtained within 12 months of appointment to the role.Ensure that ERG39 qualification training is obtained within 12 months of appointment to the role.Mentor and assist the development of any apprentices and techniciansAttend emergency and urgent asset failure situations outside working hours on a standby/rota system.Complete all certificates/test forms to the required standard.To deputise for the supervisor as and when required and assist with providing suitable cover during holidays/sickness periods.Ensure P.P.E.
is utilised when working and stored correctly when not in use.To undertake all training requirement to enable the work to be completed safely and to an approved/recognised standard.To undertake the required vehicle checks and full completion of relevant paperwork.Ensure that all paperwork time sheets, vehicle sheets and certificates are completed accurately and on time.Be aware of Health and Safety requirements and work in partnership with the agents Health and Safety and agency Quality Assurance manager to ensure that the Unit complies with the relevant requirements.Undertake any other reasonable duties, as required by the Supervisor.The Agency is committed to the principles of Performance management and, from time to time it will be necessary to participate in projects involved in reaching specific achievements.THERE IS A DUTY TO ENSURE THE SAFE OPERATION OF PLANT AND EQUIPMENT AT ALL TIMES WITH PARTICULAR RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE SAFETY OF THE WORKFORCE AND PUBLIC IN RELATION TO IT.Responsibility for self-development.Ensure compliance with Health and Safety rules in the workplace in accordance with the responsibilities noted in the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Councils Health and Safety Policy.Operate within the Councils policies in relation to equal opportunities and equality.Responsible for managing information in accordance with the Councils information management guidelines.
