We have an exciting role based across our Dungannon Retail and Penston sites for an NPD Product Integrity and Compliance Manager who will support NPD, oversee trials, and ensure consistent implementation of validation and technical standards.

Role Definition
The Product Integrity & Compliance Manager is a senior, cross-site role ensuring all new and upgraded products are safe, compliant, robustly risk-assessed, and ready for launch. The role plays a pivotal role in the end-to-end product and packaging development process. It offers broader scope and influence beyond factory production, giving the opportunity to shape how products are developed, not just how they are controlled. The role is a guardian of product safety & an enabler of innovation
This role sits at the centre of the Innovation function, with primary responsibility for the food safety, quality, regulatory, and governance framework throughout the product development lifecycle. It holds decision-making authority, balancing compliance with the drive for innovation and operational readiness across multiple manufacturing sites. Acting as the key technical decision-maker, you will collaborate closely with NPD, Operations, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams to ensure products meet all safety and quality standards while enabling rapid and effective product launches. The position also serves as a main customer contact from factory trial stage onwards.
1. Product & Packaging development governance
Own the factory process aspects of Recipe Professor assurance and compliance framework for all new/upgraded products and packaging from concept through to launch.
Support the RP workflow to ensure all customer deadlines are met
Act as the quality and food safety authority within the NPD process, ensuring appropriate controls, validations, and approvals are delivered in the RP workflow.
Lead new ingredient & product risk assessments
Support& lead key development stages from concept to launch, particularly taking the lead following concept approval. Working alongside the NPD process team to deliver successful product seals & preproduction trials with customers.
2. Food Safety, Quality & Regulatory Compliance
Ensure all products comply with customer legislation.
Provide clear guidance on risk-based decision making for product formulation, process changes, and packaging innovation.
Act as escalation point for any risks identified during development & work collectively with NPD to find resolutions
3. Ingredient, Packaging & Supplier Assurance
Lead approval of new ingredients supporting the ingredient sourcing meeting
Lead approval of packaging formats and materials, ensuring shelf-life performance, and regulatory compliance.
Assess and approve new supplier documentation, validation data, and change control.
4. Cross-Functional Leadership of process trials
Partner with NPD, Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams to enable smooth scale-up and launch.
Translate technical and regulatory requirements into clear, practical guidance for non-technical stakeholders.
Support factory trials and first productions, ensuring product integrity is maintained at scale.
5.Continuous Improvement
Strengthen NPD governance, documentation & stage-gate processes through effective use of RP.
Identify opportunities to improve speed to market while maintaining product integrity.
Build food safety and compliance capability within wider site teams
6. Multi site & operational readiness
Work closely with site teams to ensure products are manufacturable, compliant, and consistently delivered at scale.
Support factory trials, first productions, and launch reviews across multiple UK sites.
Ensure consistent governance and decision-making across all locations.
7. Customer relationships
Build extensive relationship networks with internal and external customers
Deliver confident presentations to ensure customers are assured all measures have been taken to produce product consistently to a high standard.
Requirements
Essential
Proven experience within a meat, protein, or high-risk chilled food manufacturing environment.
Strong working knowledge of:
HACCP-based food safety systems
Food labelling, allergens, and regulatory compliance
Product specifications and change control
Experience supporting or leading new product development or product change projects.
Confident decision-maker with the ability to assess and balance risk, compliance, and commercial timelines.
Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across functions.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing and NPD environment.
Desirable
Experience specifically within red meat or primary processing environments.
Exposure to packaging development, shelf-life validation, or material compliance.
Experience working with major retail or foodservice customers and their standards.
Formal qualification in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related discipline.
Auditor or lead HACCP practitioner qualification.
Internal or external auditing experience.
