Clerical Officer - Health Records
Employer: NHS Ayrshire & Arran
Shift pattern: Wednesday 08:30 - 17:00, Thursday 08:30 - 16:30 and Friday 08:30 - 17:00.
This post is permanent. Salary is pro rata for part‑time hours. The post may close sooner than the advertised date, depending on the level of interest.
Responsibilities:
* Provide an efficient Health Records service to patients, medical and nursing staff.
* Ensure patient appointments for outpatient clinics, day cases and inpatient admissions are administered and processed accurately.
* Maintain electronic and paper‑based patient record systems, ensuring confidentiality, accuracy and up‑to‑date information.
* Maintain patient demographic and administrative data through continual checking and updating in the patient management system.
Qualifications:
* National 4 or Level 1 qualification in three subjects, including English or equivalent.
* General administration and office experience / previous clerical experience desirable.
* Computer literate with good keyboard skills.
* Previous reception experience desirable.
* Prior experience of using a Patient Management System desirable; training will be provided.
Please note this is a GGC‑wide post and can be moved to any location; however the initial base will be Royal Hospital for Children.
