Children in Need, Child Protection
Location: North West
Pay rate: £40 per hour
We are seeking experienced and passionate Qualified Social Workers to join our Children in Need and Child Protection teams based in North West. In this role, you will be dedicated to providing an effective, child-centered service to children in need of support and protection. Your responsibilities will include contributing to service strategies, policies, and procedures as required.
This role offers flexible working arrangements, including 3 days in the office. You will be part of one of five teams within the service, each comprising 6 social workers and a Family Support Worker. The team handles cases from initial referral through to care proceedings and transfers to the Cared for Team at the initial hearing. As such, team members participate in a duty rota, and presence in the office on duty days is expected.
You will be committed to ensuring positive and sustainable outcomes through your interventions. Using best practices, you will strive to achieve the best outcomes for children, with a passion for supporting children and families to thrive and flourish. Our priority is to protect the most vulnerable and operate efficiently.
Ideal Candidate:
* Registered with Social Work England as a qualified social worker
* Experience working with children and families, including vulnerable groups
* Creative, flexible, and forward-thinking approach
* Knowledge of Child Protection legislation and issues
* Continuous improvement mindset to optimize outcomes for families
* Excellent mediation and negotiation skills
* Ability to build meaningful relationships with clients
* Committed to delivering high-quality services
* Experience working in multi-disciplinary, interagency settings
* Minimum of 2 years' qualified experience
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct comprehensive assessments of risks, protection, and social care needs
* Manage an agreed caseload
* Use specialist communication skills to achieve optimal outcomes
* Develop individual care plans respecting diversity and promoting dignity and empowerment
* Provide advice and support to unqualified staff and students
