Job Overview
Indra is seeking a Systems Engineer/System Test Engineer to join the Operational Validation and Support team at Whiteley, Hampshire. The role involves working directly with Air Traffic Controllers to demonstrate new functionality, provide support, and analyse user feedback on Indra’s ATM product.
Employees will participate in a two‑year SmartStart scheme for new graduates, which offers training, career progression and salary incentives.
Key Responsibilities
* Demonstrate new functionality to end users and provide guidance on ATM product usage.
* Support users during operational deployment and maintenance of the system.
* Analyse observations and feedback raised by controllers and translate them into actionable improvements.
* Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to plan, develop, and execute test plans and test cases for functional tests.
* Engage in validation activities with end users and participate in integration and verification testing.
Required Qualifications
* 2:1 Honours degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a global team.
* Strong organisational, planning and decision‑making skills.
* Resilient under heavy workloads, conflicting priorities and tight deadlines.
* Self‑motivated and proactive, with the ability to propose innovative solutions.

Desirable Skills
* Experience with integration and verification testing, including test plan, design and case development.
* Experience performing validation activities with end users.
* Experience interacting with customers and using customer‑facing tools.
* Familiarity with requirement management tools (e.g., DOORS).
* Experience with change management tools (e.g., IBM Rational Change).
* Knowledge of ATC concepts and ATM systems.
* Experience with command‑line Linux.
* Knowledge of software development methodologies (Waterfall, V‑Model, Agile, Scrum).
* Understanding of software architecture concepts and tools (e.g., EA).
* Basic knowledge of programming/scripting and computer networking.
* Familiarity with defect management tools (e.g., JIRA).
