Outline of the job
As Project Manager, you will help support an exciting communication and advocacy programme spanning five countries over three years, aiming to build support for Ukraine.
The role forms part of Zinc Network’s Project Management team and will report into the project’s Deputy Director.
What you’ll be doing
· Build relationships with Ukrainian civil society organisations who are advocating internationally.
· Conduct desk research into specific countries and work with specialist consultants to develop briefings on the political, social and media landscapes and stakeholder environments.
· Plan and facilitate delegation visits to countries.
· Work with Zinc’s strategy team and external consultants to help shape advocacy goals and tactics to ensure that initiatives deliver real policy wins.
· Write detailed reports on project activity and outcomes.
· Draft communications materials, including press releases, articles, briefing documents, etc.
· Build and maintain strong relationships with client and partner organisations across civil society, acting as an ambassador for the organisation, building trust and confidence in Zinc’s capability.
· Be the strategic guardian for your project, ensuring it delivers on both Zinc Network and client objectives.
· Ensure all client expectations for your projects are understood and communicated quickly and effectively and escalate where these are unrealistic.
· Provide project management services – ensuring delivery is on time, to budget and in line with contractual requirements.
· Monitor and manage risks and work closely with our team in London to identify and overcome challenges.
· The role will involve up to 30% international travel.
Requirements
What we need from you
1. 2+ years’ experience delivering effective advocacy or communications campaigns.
2. Excellent client management skills; experience working with government clients is desirable.
3. Ability to project manage against strict deadlines and within budget.
4. Strong organisational skills and ability to communicate with multiple stakeholders clearly.
5. Excellent written and spoken English.
6. Have prior experience working in cross-functional communications teams.
