JOB- Design EngineerLOCATION- Canterbury, KentTERM- Permanent (Hybrid working)SALARY- £37,000 - £45,000 dependent on experienceMy client is looking for a couple Design Engineer's to join their business on a permanent basis in the Canterbury area. They are manufacturers of mechanical products with some exposure to electrical products.The Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:HNC/HND/ Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar work based experienceAt least 3 years' experience in a similar Design EngineeringPrevious experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environmentBe proficient using 3D CAD software. Creo would be advantageousGood theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerancesSome electrical skills would be beneficialExcellent communication skills both verbal and writtenProficient using MS OfficeExcellent organisational skills and time management skillsHave the ability to work well alone as well as part of a small multi-disciplinary team The Design Engineer role will involve:Using CAD for concept design and producing technical drawingsLiaising with manufacturing providersBeing involved in NPI and Product developmentCreating the required documentation for design as well as project reports / plansUpdating 3D models and drawingsInputting parts into the MRP system creating BOMsChecking drawings for sign offLiasing with pre-production and operations functions to allow for efficient and cost-effective manufactureWorking in a small multi-disciplinary team on varied projectsIf you are interested in this position, please apply with an up to date CV as soon as possible, along with your availability and your salary expectation.
