Ashmolean Museum, Beaumont Street, Oxford, OX1 2PH About the role The Ashmolean Museum, part of the University of Oxford’s Gardens, Libraries and Museums (GLAM) division, houses world-renowned collections of art and archaeology. The Department of Digital Collections plays a key role in supporting online access to this collection, with over 300,000 objects already available online, with plans for significant expansion. We are now looking for a Digital Collections Manager to lead the planning, management and delivery of priority digital collections initiatives as part of a dynamic and growing team. You will manage digital collections projects from planning to delivery, including oversight of digitisation and cataloguing initiatives, and supervision of project staff, volunteers, and students. You will also support departmental operations and policy development, and promote best practice in digital collections data management in collaboration with colleagues across the museum. This is a fixed-term, full-time post (37.5 hours per week) for 2 years, with the possibility of further extension. The role supports hybrid working with the expectation of 3 days on-site per week in Central Oxford. About you You will have proven experience managing successful digital collections and digitisation projects, ideally in a museum setting. You will be an excellent communicator, with proven ability to manage competing priorities and support a range of stakeholders, as well as experience supervising junior staff or volunteers. You will also be confident in using digital tools such as Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and Power BI.
