A skilled CNC Machinist is required for a permanent role at a manufacturing facility in Burnley. The position runs night shift (Mon‑Thurs 22:00‑07:30) and offers competitive pay with a night‑shift differential as well as a comprehensive benefits package.
Compensation and Working Conditions
Salary: £15.66 per hour with an additional £4.64 per hour for night shift (approximately £40,000 per year). Hours: Mon‑Thurs 22:00‑07:30. Location: Burnley.
Responsibilities
* Set up tools and load materials onto the CNC machine.
* Carry out machining of components.
* Measure components produced on machines and use inspection equipment to ensure those components meet drawing dimensions and tolerances.
* Read, interpret and work from engineering drawings.
* Contribute in a team working environment.
* Contribute to continuous improvement.
* Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
* Manually handle weights up to 25 kg.
* Complete quality documentation.
* Use computer equipment for data purposes.
* Work to lean theory.
* Observe and practice the 5S principles.
Qualifications
* Time‑served CNC certification or equivalent.
* Experience working with stainless steels.
* Machine programming experience using Fanuc, Okuma or Mazak CNC controls.
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
* Strong commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.
