Job Description
Newstaff Employment Services is seeking a skilled HGV 2 Flat Bed Driver to join our team in Hockliffe. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe transportation of goods utilising flatbed vehicles. This position requires a professional driver who is experienced in securing loads and delivering various types of heavy goods. As a crucial part of our logistics operation, you will ensure that deliveries are made on time and that loads are handled with care. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, a keen attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining safety standards.
Responsibilities
1. Operate HGV 2 flatbed vehicles for the transport of goods to various locations.
2. Secure loads on flatbed trailers to ensure safety during transit.
3. Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of vehicles and report any maintenance issues.
4. Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs.
5. Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery details and schedules.
6. Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies regarding vehicle operation and safety.
7. Assist with loading and unloading cargo as required, ensuring proper handling techniques are used.
Requirements
8. Valid HGV 2 (Class 2) driving license.
9. Previous experience as a Flat Bed Driver is preferred.
10. Strong understanding of load securing techniques and regulations.
11. Excellent driving record with a commitment to safety.
12. Good time management and organizational skills.
13. Strong communication skills and customer service orientation.
14. Willingness to work flexible hours as needed.
